The texts of the publication, written by Judit Árva and Kitti Gosztola, focus on the processes of the Colonia Herbaria project, the phases and results of the collaboration with young people, the qualities of the relationships and bonds between plants and humans, and the stages of houseplant culture, reflecting on artistic, cultural and historical examples.

The bilingual catalogue is the closing chord of the project and, at the same time, the opening piece of the methodological series of the Space of Opportunity.

The Space of Opportunity, a long-term cultural and educational programme by tranzit.hu, held its first Urban Camp, a series of arts events in the summer, in July 2022. Focusing on participation and co-creation, this project aims to encourage those who live in it to examine the urban space—and do so by radically breaking with conventional approaches. The idea of Urban Camp. Five Days, Five Artists, Five Senses was based on direct experiences—the ones we have through our senses—which we sought to capture with the means and through the language of art, with the help of artists we invited. The accessible subject and the methods proposed by the artists resulted in a series of experimental, horizontal workshops that offered food for thought to both arts professionals and all generations of interested participants. This publication gives an insight into the methodology, background research and artistic practices of the camp. This volume is the first in a series dedicated to the workshops of the Urban Camp, which we have presented every summer since its inception.
